Client-side inventory sorting, done right.

Smart inventory sorting with a zone-aware layout, persistent chest memory, and quick stack to nearby containers. Fully client-side — no server mod needed.

Sorting with a real layout

Not alphabetical, not random. A consistent zone layout applied top-to-bottom across your main inventory.

  • Weapons, tools and armor up top; food next; building blocks grouped by material; everything else below
  • Your hotbar is left alone — active gear and quick-slots stay exactly where you put them
  • Pick something up and it sorts itself in; open a chest and the sort button is right there
  • Shulker boxes get sorted too, each slotted in next to its primary item

Remembers every chest

Open a container once and Sorted records its contents — persistently, per world and server, surviving restarts.

  • Search every container you have opened by item name, with count, position and dimension
  • Click a result and Sorted highlights the chest in the world, visible through walls
  • The cache keeps itself honest — broken container dropped, re-checked when chunks load

See inside without opening

Glance at a shulker box, barrel or chest and its contents sit right on the lid.

  • A small grid of the items inside, plus the container’s custom name if you renamed it
  • The label lies flat on the face the lid opens from, so it reads right on a floor, wall or ceiling
  • Choose what shows, how many items, how far away, and which container types get labels
  • Read live in singleplayer; from Sorted’s records on servers

Quick Stack and transfers

One keybind deposits every item that already has a matching stack in a nearby container. Terraria players know this one.

  • Quick Empty, Quick Fill and Pull All round out the set — dump, top up, or pull a whole chest
  • Buttons live inside inventory and container screens, in vanilla widget frames
  • Any resource pack that restyles buttons restyles these automatically

Safe on servers

Transfers run as a throttled queue of clicks rather than one burst — friendly by default.

  • If a server kicks you mid-sort, Sorted steps its rate down and remembers it, per server
  • A built-in block list fully disables the mod on servers that ban automation
  • Client-only — works on vanilla servers, Realms and modpacks, with no server component
