Troubleshooting
The problems players run into most, in one place, each with what to do and where to read more.
First check #
- Have the newest version. It reaches Modrinth first; CurseForge checks every file and can be days behind. Mod Menu on Fabric, or the mod list on NeoForge, says which version you have.
- Have the file for your Minecraft version and your loader. Every version is listed on the Sorted page.
- On Fabric, have Fabric API installed as well.
The buttons #
Sorted says it is turned off on this server.
The server is on the built-in list of servers that do not allow automation, and Sorted does nothing there.
A feature is turned off on this server.
The server runs VoxelSprout Policy and turned it off. One chat line said what when you joined. Your settings stay as they are for other servers.
The screens look different from the pictures, or a setting is missing.
You have an older version, most often one from CurseForge that is not up to date yet. Get the newest one from Modrinth.
Sorting and moving items #
Quick Stack left some items in my inventory.
It only puts an item in a chest that already holds a fair amount of it, or of the same material. Shift+Click Quick Stack to put the rest away too. Kept items never leave.
My hotbar is not sorted.
On purpose: sorting only touches the main inventory, so what you put in reach stays there.
I get kicked while Sorted is moving items.
Some anti-cheat plugins kick for fast clicking. Sorted slows down on that server after each kick until the kicks stop, and remembers it. You can also lower Actions per tick yourself.
Quick Stack opens chests on a server.
A server only tells your game what is in a chest when you open it, so Quick Stack opens the ones it has no recent record of.
An item was left on my cursor after a sort.
Sorted checks for this after every sort and puts the item back. If it still happens, send the log.
The progress card moves when chat shows.
Opening chat leaves it where it is; it steps aside for new chat lines. Turn off Make room for chat in the HUD tab to keep it still.
Finding things #
The search does not find an item I stored.
It knows what is in the containers you have opened. Open the chest once, or turn on Auto-scan nearby containers to read the ones within reach as you walk past.
The search shows old contents.
It shows what was in a container when you last opened it, and another player may have changed it since. Open it again.
Labels do not show on chests.
Labels on chests and barrels are off by default: turn on Chests and Barrels in the In the world tab. On a server, a container shows its contents after you opened it once.
Still stuck #
Type /sorted report in game: you see everything that would be sent, and nothing goes until you press Send. Or ask on Discord. See Bug reports, and the FAQ for everything else.
