Placing on servers

Your own world, Axiom, /fill, WorldEdit or a BuildPrint blueprint: what each needs.

Automatic (the default) tries these in order and uses the first that works. You can also pick one yourself on the Placing page of the brush panel, which says for each whether it works where you are.

  1. 1. Your world SingleplayerBlocks go straight into the world. The fastest way.Needs: Nothing
  2. 2. Axiom Servers with the AxiomPaper pluginSpeaks the plugin's own protocol. With the Axiom mod installed, Wildform leaves Axiom to it and goes through the mod.Needs: The axiom.use permission, or the Axiom mod installed
  3. 3. /fill commands Any serverBoxes of the same block are merged, so a tree takes as few commands as it can.Needs: Operator status
  4. 4. WorldEdit Servers with WorldEdit or FAWEWith FAWE, one schematic paste per tree. Without operator status the server allows about one command a second, so big trees take a while.Needs: Permission for //set
  5. 5. BuildPrint blueprint Anywhere BuildPrint runsTrees go into a BuildPrint blueprint, not the world: one per world, kept up to date as you paint and undo. Build it by hand or with easy place.Needs: BuildPrint installed

How commands are sent #

  • Only the first block-changing command is sent, then nothing until the world shows it worked.
  • A red error reply, or no change within 5 seconds, stops the queue and switches that method off until you reconnect, with the server's own words as the reason.
  • Without operator status commands are paced to about one a second, under the vanilla spam limit, so big trees take a while.
  • /fill boxes of the same block are merged, so a tree takes as few commands as it can.

Axiom #

The server needs the AxiomPaper plugin, and you need the axiom.use permission. With the Axiom mod installed, Wildform goes through the mod instead of speaking to the plugin itself.

Placing on servers has been tried on a few servers so far. If it fails on yours, the reason on the Placing page helps a lot in a report on Discord.
