Switching from another map mod

Bring waypoints and maps over from Xaero's Minimap, Xaero's World Map, JourneyMap and Bobby, and fill the map from Distant Horizons.

What you made with another map mod comes along. Charted only reads the other mod's files and never changes them, and what Charted mapped itself is never covered.

Waypoints #

  1. Open the settings, Waypoints tab, From other map mods.
  2. Import beside From Xaero's Minimap and JourneyMap, or type /charted import waypoints.
  3. Chat says how many came over, from which mod, for how many worlds, with an Undo.

It brings the waypoints those mods have on this computer for every single-player world and every server in your list at once. Ones already here are skipped, so it is safe to do again after you add more there. The walkthrough offers it too when it finds them.

A file from a friend #

  • Choose file beside From a file, or /charted import file, opens the system's file dialog. /charted import file <path> takes a path.
  • Or drag the file onto the waypoint list.
  • It reads the JSON or text form Xaero's Minimap waypoints come in, and JourneyMap's.
  • The waypoints go into the world you are in, and into the dimension the file's name says (overworld.json), or else the one you are in.

Maps #

Import maps from other mods, under Storage in the settings, or /charted import maps, brings over what Bobby, Xaero's World Map and JourneyMap have mapped of the world you are in, every dimension. Charted offers it once when it finds such a map.

When another mod has several maps for one server, Charted only takes the one that matches this world. If it cannot tell yet, it says so: look around a little, then import again.

A whole single-player world #

In single-player Charted can map the whole world from its save, also the places you went before installing it. It offers to when you join, and the same import does it.

Distant Horizons #

With Distant Horizons installed, the map shows the terrain it has saved where you have not been: around you as you play, and wherever you look on the world map. It looks a little paler, and what you see yourself replaces it as you go. Fill the map from Distant Horizons under Map turns it off.
