Troubleshooting
The problems players run into most, in one place, each with what to do and where to read more.
First check #
- Have the newest version. It reaches Modrinth first; CurseForge checks every file and can be days behind. Mod Menu on Fabric, or the mod list on NeoForge, says which version you have.
- Have the file for your Minecraft version and your loader. Every version is listed on the BuildPrint page.
- On Fabric, have Fabric API installed as well.
Opening it #
The game does not start with BuildPrint installed.
Check the file is the one for your Minecraft version and loader, and on Fabric that Fabric API is there. Still crashing? Bring the crash report from the
crash-reportsfolder to Discord.
Seeing the build #
Only one layer of the build shows.
The layer view is on. Set Layers to Off in the View group of the Loaded tab. . and , turn it on, so a stray press can do it.
A build disappeared and chat said BuildPrint hid it.
The frame rate stayed low, so BuildPrint hid the nearest build. Show it again in the Loaded tab, or turn off Hide builds when lag persists.
A blue box or blue outlines are in the way.
Outlines on single blocks are Outline missing blocks, in the Rendering tab. The box around the whole build is its bounding box: it goes when you hide or remove the build.
The ghost looks blurry or wrong with a shader pack.
Get the newest version first: several fixed problems with shader packs. Still wrong? Send
/buildprint reportwith a screenshot, and name the pack and its version.Item and tab icons are invisible after changing shaders.
That is a bug in Iris on Minecraft 26.2, not in BuildPrint. Scroll through the whole creative item list once to bring them back.
BuildPrint's cards move when chat shows.
Opening chat leaves them where they are; they step aside for new chat lines. Turn off Make room for chat in the HUD tab to keep them still.
Putting it in place #
Auto align could not find my build.
Chat says why. Most often too little of it is built yet. Stand close, build a little more, rare blocks first, or set Position by hand.
A build on the website is missing in the game.
The game only lists builds that work on your Minecraft version and with the mods you have.
The preview says the build is too large.
Only the 3D preview in the menu is skipped. The build still loads and shows in the world.
Placing blocks #
Easy place says there is no block in my inventory.
In survival you need to carry the block. If it is anywhere in your inventory it is moved to your hand.
A block will not go down with easy place.
It never places a block facing the wrong way. Try from another side. Some blocks need the one they rest on first; Build prerequisites first places that one first.
Blocks will not go down on water or in mid-air.
Place in liquids is on by default; Place in mid-air is off until you turn it on in the Building tab. Strict anti-cheat refuses both, and a server can turn them off.
The printer stopped.
It only places blocks you carry, within reach, and with the layer view on only the layers on screen. Move through the build, or pick up what is missing.
The printer leaves barrels, pistons or observers unplaced.
With Face directional blocks yourself on, it places them only while you look the way they point. Turn to face that way, or turn the setting off.
A crop, a lit furnace or leaves are not marked as wrong.
Those are states you cannot place, so Survival sanity checks leaves them out. Turn it off to see every difference.
A chest says its contents are not checked.
On a server your game only learns what is in a container while it is open. Open it once.
On a server #
A feature is turned off on this server.
The server runs VoxelSprout Policy and turned it off. Chat said what when you joined; the shield at the bottom right of the menu, or
/buildprint rules, shows the details. Your settings stay as they are for other servers.Paste skips part of the build.
Through Axiom, commands or WorldEdit, parts in chunks your game has not loaded are skipped. Come closer and paste again with Existing: Keep.
Still stuck #
Run /buildprint report in game: you see everything that would be sent, and nothing goes until you press Send. Or ask on Discord, with a picture or a short clip. See Bug reports, and the FAQ for everything else.
